Nothing Nasty Recommended Basic Skincare Regimen for Healthy Skin

Four main principles:

1:    Get enough sleep, rest and introspection

2:    Eat appropriate food (Fresh, Organic, Omnivorous, Stone Age based)

3:    Exercise. Move 20 min/day. Make fun childish movements. Get fresh air and sunshine/daylight.

4:    Pursue happiness. (i.e. do things you enjoy, enjoy what you do). Find out what makes you tick.

DIET
Do not be afraid of fats, make sure you eat enough. Butter, extra virgin cold pressed olive oil, flax seed oil (a teaspoon in salad), virgin cold pressed coconut oil, are all important sources of healthy fats.

Avoid all margarines, vegetable oils, vegetable shortening and hydrogenated fats.

Drink enough liquids.

Eat good quality protein. (Fish, meat, eggs)

Eat a rainbow diet. I.e. as many different colours as you can in each meal. Variety is KING!

Take vitamin and mineral supplements. Take Omega 3’s. Dr Myhill has a list of supplements she recommends all people take as a basic “healthcare” package" even if nothing is wrong.

LIFESTYLE
Stop using harsh cleansing products, moisturisers and makeup. Find healthy alternative sources, or make your own. Cleaning your face with water is perfectly adequate if you do not use lots of makeup. Any stubborn make up can easily be removed with pure vegetable oils. (Sunflower oil or olive oil works well for this, and we sell a lovely Make Up Remover).

Stop smoking, alcohol, sugar, caffeine based foods/drinks.

Avoid chemicals, pesticides, additives, colourings, preservatives, stabilisers etc as far as possible. Think about water purification systems, air purification systems etc.

SKINCARE

Natural Skin Care does not need to be expensive. Make it yourself. You will go a long way with sunflower oils and a couple of essential oils.

Exfoliate at least once a week. Best way to do this, is to use a clean cotton flannel in the shower! (or when washing your face). Cheap and easy! 

Don’t wash too much. Every wash removes part of the protective layer on your skin, and contributes to drying the skin. Wash bits that get dirty daily, and shower/bath less frequently. Wash your face with water, or use vegetable oils for stubborn makeup and dirt. If you like a toner, use this to help close pores and impart health benefits, stay clear of alcohol containing ones. Finish with a good moisturiser. Avoid irritating ingredients.

HEALTHCARE

Have a yearly health MOT. Get your hormones/thyroids/ferritin/hemoglobin/Vit B12/mineral status done. Have a stool test to determine the health of your bowels. Check your urine.
