Nothing Nasty Environmental and Ethical policy

• We use renewable and sustainable electricity for our office. (Ecotricity)
• We always turn off lights, computers and other equipment completely and do our best to keep our energy consumption as low as possible.
• We use degradable plastic bags for our bins, and use degradable bubble wrap for our packaging.
• We use as little packaging as possible, reuse packaging sent to us, and recycle what we cannot reuse.
• We use recyclable and reusable bottles and jars for our products and offer a discounted refilling service.
• We use ethically harvested ingredients.
• We use organic ingredients wherever possible.
• We only use 100% natural products.
• We do not add any unnecessary ingredients as bulking agents.
• We do not add synthetic preservatives.
• We use local products and services whenever possible.
• We buy fairtrade and organic products for use in our office and at home.
• We use recycled paper and card.
• We recycle our waste as much as it is possible.
• We never test on anything on animals, only on very willing people.
• We use electronic communication whenever possible to save on paper.
• We only use natural cleaning products in our office and home.
• We freecycle or recycle items we do not need anymore.
• Everything we make is handmade by people.
• We do not ask for brochures, and cancel any brochures sent unsolicited.
• We do not send out unsolicited mail, nor sell any personal details.
• We continually seek wherever possible to reduce our carbon footprint.
• Wherever possible use suppliers with similar ethical policies.
• We donate to charities on a monthly basis. Our current ongoing beneficiaries are: Amnesty International, Unicef and Womankind. In 2008 we have made one off donations to Smile, Doctors Without Borders, Ocean Conservancy and Children in Need.
